Disclaimer...

This is where you can plug any audio device that has a headphone jack and play it through your RX 300 Lexus audio system. The quality of the sound is perfect. You don't have to waste money on the FM transmitters or the clunky cassette tape hook ups. Those devices can't come close the frequency response of having a direct line to you audio system.

I was able to do this installation in less than 2 hours.

OK, Before you start Read and understand this:

This is not a professional procedure but it worked for me on my 2001 RX-300. There is no guarantee that every RX-300 will be identical. Use it at your own discretion.

Step 1:

Attention: Do not have the key in the ignition when attempting this. Also, to be on the very safe side you could remove the positive connector from the battery until you are done.

1) Remove the Glove Compartment SECTION.

I circled the bolts to remove in the following pictures. When these bolts are removed the assembly that houses the glove compartment is easily removed.

You will need to un-snap a wire that is connected to the top of the glove section.

To get to the bottom bolt you can pop out the glove compartment stop (see the red arrow) so that it hangs down. This should give you enough clearance to remove it.
